An OoO Day Out: Lilydale Lake

We've been having days in the 30's (*C) these past few days which isn't normally unusual for Australia. Melbourne however does have a reputation of having 4 seasons in one day and we do get a lot of rain. We have 2 trees down to prove that fact.

Today was another hot one at 32*c and after a lazy morning at home the little man and I headed out to Lilydale Lake at his request.

We had a really good few hours there. While the little man messed about in the sand, I took photo's with my new zoom lens.

We had no agenda. Just wanted to get out and enjoy something together.

It's back to school next Friday the 3rd and with no Miss M these holidays, it's been quite easy to keep the little man entertained. He's more than happy to stay at home and play with all his toys Santa brought him.

Some days...like today...it's cooler outside than in. And some days that excess energy needs to be worn off. Even if we did have a 3 hour walk yesterday. And even if little athletic's has started again this year.

He has a lot of energies to burn off.

The lake is very popular at all times of the year. We've been often since we arrived, and apart from the sailing and light fishing, there is also a 2km walk all around the lake that also has a bicycle lane.

Plenty of wide open spaces where you can take your dogs for a walk, and in some areas have them off the leash.

It's a great place to relax and let the kids run around, have a bbq, a birthday party, picnic or just to sit in the shady areas with an ice cream and people watch.

We're expecting 34*c tomorrow  - off to a play date in the morning and then the air con offices in the afternoon to do some work.

Have a great day/evening.

  1. Lovely photos Robyn, especially the first and last with your son in them.

Your photos are nice and large too and your blog very "clean", have you made changes recently?
